This Primula a classic garden plant which is very easy to grow.
A very typical candelabra Primula it produces striking whorled tiers of rich colour. Bright crimson-pink blooms stand majestically above striking mid-green luxuriant foliage.
It makes a wonderful display in shady, damp spots and brilliant in woodland gardens. It will thrive in the full light as long as the soil is always damp. It is very tolerant of the wettest heavy soils, in fact it will thrive under such conditions. Flowering time is late spring - early summer. When in flower it reaches a height at its peak of 60cm. It will form a large clump which is easily divided.
For the best impact, plant them in large drifts.
